My glass-front box spoke dissonance,
Dumbfounded-eyes saw chaos,
Screams-buried, rampant,
Madness echoed, city in fear.
Proud towers crumbled
Like brittle mud spires.
Blood, bone, concrete, steel,
Hellish playground of rubble,
All that remained.
Turned it off,
The sting of tears and numbness,
Weight of despair
Settled like dust
Over the skyscrapers,
And over a world changed forever
In the space of an hour.
